Stress

Stress

We all know the feeling of being under pressure and research suggests that a moderate amount of pressure can be a good thing, making us more alert, helping to keep us motivated, and allowing us to perform better. However, too much pressure, or prolonged pressure, can lead to stress.

Stress can have a real impact on your heart health and unfortunately, the methods some of us use to cope with stress such as smoking, eating unhealthy foods and not finding time to exercise can also affect heart health. Learning to relax and managing your stress will not only help you enjoy your life more, but it will be better for your heart health in the long run.

Did you know?

Stress has been linked to health problems such as high blood pressure. Group support, new ways of coping, relaxation therapy and yoga are just a few examples of activities that may help reduce stress.
